INTERNET 101
Attracting Visitors:

The design of your site is a factor in how you are presented. Some sites do very well with little or no design. They are simple text, but they provide valuable information or unusual services. Most commercial sites need good design to present the image of themselves as solid, trustworthy, and competent. It has been our experience that poorly designed sites selling common products usually don't do as well as the "prettier" ones.

On the other hand:
• Websites using Flash, or all graphics
and no text will almost never get listed
on search engines.
• Websites with long loading times have
proven to drive visitors away.
• Websites with too many animations also
drive visitors away.
• Websites selling something without
listing prices have a hard time
closing sales.
Simple, elegant, to-the-point, "say it
right away - don't tease me" sites
have proven to do the best.

Good solid information which with easy access works. If the visitor has to click through too many pages to get to the information, he or she will usually leave before getting there. So, keeping this in mind, good navigation is key.

Sites not listed on search engines traditionally get very few visitors. There are exceptions, but in this case the exception only proves the rule. Advertising your site on the net is important.
