Welcome to Internet 101 -
Why a Website?

A website is just about the least expensive form
of advertising there is. If you sell products, provide services, want to compile a source list, or just know a
lot about something, you can put up a website and tell the world about yourself and what you have to offer. This
can cost as little as some learning time on your part. Once your site is on the web, it will remain there, with
little or no effort on your part, working for you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, year after year.
This is incredible! You don't have to hand out fliers, submit ads to magazines, place want ads, deal with ad agencies,
run off to the printer, pay for costly color brochures ... just let your website do its work!
Is it Really That Simple?
Almost! When you are browsing, think to yourself
just what it is about that site you like that keeps you coming back or what it was that enticed you to buy something.
Some sites change frequently to keep you coming back, while others simply provide information you need over and
over. Other sites don't try to keep you coming back. They have something to sell or inform you about that you won't
need again. They rely on the millions of surfers coming for what they have to offer. Both systems work. Of course,
some sites are there, unadvertised and get no visitors at all. We are here to help you stay out of this category.
